you’re probably not awake so you won’t see this until monday or later, but just look forward to next sunday. i don’t know about you, but i find sunday to be the most laid back day. even if you’re still out there working hard the majority of people around you are going to be kicking back, spending time with their families and not in a rush to be anywhere. i think it’s really nice to be around that kind of atmosphere once a week on a sunday because let’s face it; everyone needs a day . i’ve been reading through my blog and everything i’ve written about, asked a couple friends what they think and i got some good input. just a little heads up i’m going to be switching it up a little bit. first off i’m going to say more pages are coming with lots of articles and stories, secondly i’m going to talk to you a bit more about what you have to say. you always have the option of contacting me , but i’m going to enable comments so you guys can share your stories, and what’s hot right now in the world of softball. i want to branch it out a bit here. i’ve honestly found myself running out of things to say. i mean i could tell endless stories about my career and continue to give you tips, but it gets boring after a while. we’re expanding into baseball, hockey and football, as well as anything you guys would like to add would be gladly accepted. man is there ever some crazy things going on in the world of hockey. that connor mcgregor fella, that’s an over-achiever if i’ve ever seen one. having said that, here’s a link to the latest news in canadian softball . i generally follow the canadian news because well, it’s where i come from. most of my family lives in canada, so it’s pretty much just by default what i pay attention to. if you ever have the opportunity to visit victoria b.c, i’ll let you know the food there is unreal. make sure you bring money though as it’s not the cheapest of places. it’s been a while, in the last couple weeks i’ve been thoroughly enjoying having the ability to just relax, finally. of course i’m keeping busy, in fact more busy now than ever, but it’s been wonderful to do things on my own schedule. my son is old enough to fend for himself, i don’t have to get up at 5 in the morning for work (though i still wake up that early by choice.) life is pretty darn good right now i’m not going to lie. that’s all for today folks. i wanted to give you an update, let you know i’m still around and have a lot more on the way for you guys. looking forward to hearing your input and opinions! – robert turner categories: general good ol’ days posted on october 20, 2016 2:16 am by robert turner i talked to an old friend of mine today that brought me back to my young days. that happens to me a lot, i’m quite the thinker and love to reflect on my past. my good friend michael owns a company that does mainly tree removals , anything tree related really but the removals are his favorite job and most frequent. anyways michael is going through a bit of a rough time. he’s always been a very motivated and active person but just hasn’t been the same lately, which is okay, everyone goes through those phases. we call it a midlife crisis. my conversation with michael earlier made me think about my old business and how much i enjoyed it. continue reading → categories: general get back in the game! posted on october 12, 2016 6:56 pm by robert turner i fell asleep at the wheel.. not literally, i mean i haven’t been keeping up with my blog. i got distracted by other shiny objects. they call it “ shiny objects syndrome ” – you can apply that saying to pretty much anything, it basically means you chase shiny things that look appealing. personally i been off learning where i should be investing my money, as well as becoming licensed to sell life insurance. i stumbled across a multi-level marketing company called primerica . i learned a lot of valuable information from these guys, and will continue to do so. if anyone’s looking for an opportunity to basically run your own business; this is a good place to start. the investment is minimal and you can build yourself a nice income if you do the work, and it’s not hard. my honest unbiased opinion is that it’s definitely not for everyone, you have to be able to self motivate yourself; but it is by no means a scam. some people sign up, and then feel ripped off when they don’t do the work, and they get nothing out of it. continue reading → categories: general the importance of your ‘ mental game’ posted on october 4, 2016 6:20 pm by robert turner i’ve spent a lot of time on this blog talking about my experience over the years, different techniques used, and i’ve also talked about george hancock and the history he created. today i want to re-iterate the most important technique of all; and that is being mentally prepared . continue reading → categories: general does softball interest you? posted on september 28, 2016 5:24 am by robert turner i know a lot of people. i have a lot of friends who enjoy the game of baseball but prefer softball , and also a lot of friends who aren’t too keen on the idea of the games. some believe the games move ‘too slow’ and that sports should be at high intensity at all times, keeping people on the edge of their seat. truth is if you really understand the game of softball you will realize that it is one of the most exciting sports out there… i do understand why people find it boring, i hear this from my friends: “baseball/softball is 90% standing around doing nothing, and then by the time something actually happens, you’re half asleep and you don’t even know what’s going on.” the reason people feel this way is because they haven’t experienced the game within the game. i talked about 3 key factors in my last article, the second key factor i mentioned was: “ getting good at the change up”. various strategies are being implemented while the change up is in play; strategic head games and staying alert. after putting in so much practice: countless hours of pitching, hitting, learning these techniques and so on, putting it into action in a real game where people are cheering for you and spirit is in the air it becomes ‘ a whole different ball game’. where do you think that saying comes from?
